Looking forward to be in Washington DC in less than 7 days now. Will be good to disconnect from the regular life, see friends, enjoy wine, and discuss while relaxing. As maybe a week after, the US election can change lot of things.

And it seems North Korea want to help Mr. Putin, and send him 10 000 soldiers or more.
China and India are mad at Canada.
Still waiting Israel answer to Iran many missiles attack.
What’s next?

What next?
A yes, the ‘’vintage ending by 4’’ as sub theme at 2024 BWE convention weekend. Is it time to bring my 1974 and 1984?

Re: The 2021 Cantemerle
The 2021 Château Cantemerle is surely on the lighter side, even if it has a dark red color. Nose is ok,not complex probably because of it age, with dark cranberries, green tomatillo, and ginger spices and a good dose of oak. Mouth is a bit unbalanced, with a slight bitter acidic fruit, light smoke and green wood. Diluted. I would say like most critics, surely one of the less interesting wine Cantemerle has made lately. Final is medium long, but has some nice grape flavors, and bitter wood. I’m sad to rate it 86, and don’t really understand what happened for that vintage, for Cantemerle.

Everyone strikes out now and then.

Hi,
Izak Litwar and I were at Cantemerle on Friday tasting 2020/21/22/ and 23. The first two were weak and, in my opinion, not of Cru Classé status, but the latter heralded an unmistakable step up.

Re: The 2021 Cantemerle
I wouldn't describe 2020 and 2021 as weak years; rather, I found them to be light but pleasant. I have a different opinion on 2021 with me not finding bitterness and the wine being unbalanced.
In 2022 and 2023, you can really see what a new manager brings to the table. It represents a significant improvement in quality. I believe that 2023 is even better than 2022, and it certainly meets GCC quality standards! And the price of 2023 is ridiculously low!

Guys
I have tried several vintages of Cantemerle over the years and other than 1989, I was never that impressed with it. Even in top vintages like 2005 it as not CC level. I did buy some 23 on the expectation of more intensity and interest. There are numerous other wines in the same price level and I have to say that I do hope it has improved.

Love the 2010 as well. 2019 is spectacular and worth seeking out.
