2002 Smith Haut Lafitte: A point
Cherry, cedar, gravel. Aromatic. Slight fading at the rim. Classic Graves. Certainly better than the 2005, on par with the 2001, I might give the nod to the 2000 SHL but they are two different animals. What can I say, the British reserve of this vintage just screams out, and when you add in the QPR (I think Blanquito and I got this for, what, $25-30?), it merits a high score. Drinking lovely right now and for the next ten years. Substantial sediment. Not for everyone, mind you: If you are a Parker whore, you will not rate this 94 points. But if you remember how good Bordeaux once could be, you will like it. Rating: 94 points.

Indeed a lovely wine. On a par with the 04 I would say. The 06 is cut from the same cloth
