2019 San Fabiano Calcinaia

Chianti Classico.
Dark medium red. Nose of cherries, concentrated red berries, bay leave. In mouth, well made, good fruit with bitter cherries, some old wood, maybe a bit of candy. Some bitterness and good acidity, with decent final of sweet cherry, bitter pulp, light cinnamon. Correct for the price, but the 2019 Felsina Berardenga is more classical and better. But the San Fabiano Calcinaia doesn’t have any modern winemaking notes. Tn: 87-88.
