Covid came for an unscheduled visit last week... seems to have decide to start leaving yesterday...
So did a test this evening and opened this excellent Chianti Classico Risera 2019, from Castello di Querceto. Dark red for sangio, quite distinctive nose with violet flowers, ripe purple (grapes) and blue (blueberries) fruits, sweet spices. In the mouth, attack on the same fruits as on the nose, good acidity, a little green vine wood and silky oak, with a very present tannic grain. Reminds me of Il Tarocco, with less oak, and more present fruit. Very good, while maybe not the most complex or classic. Tn: 89-90.

Ditto, Nicola, sounds like you got a nasty dose of the covid.
Sounds like you didn't lose taste/smell.

Thank you for your notes on the 2019 vintage. I really enjoyed the 2016 Reserva and got it for a steal in NH for $12/btl. After that the price doubled and opened many other options. I'll probably pick up a bottle to try again.
