TN: 2005 Fonbel

Time to check in on a 2005.....this is very young and has a lot of rounded tannin, matched with red fruits and acidity into a nice package. There's subtle mineral and earth components, but a fairly compact finish. Day 2 the cherry and strawberry fruit comes to the forefront, with some of what Tanzer calls "inner mouth energy". Medium bodied, ripe but not sweet. Still a somewhat short finish. I'll open another in 2 to 3 years.
