Nice haul Ian. I guess Brexit and the falling pound not concerning you.

Just picked up the last of my 2015 future that I had no idea that I had purchased and paid for but happy to bring in 6 Cantemerle, 6 d'Aghuile and 6 La Veille Cure which will add to the intermediate term drinkers.

Swung by the Total Wine in Norwalk CT while heading over to my aunt and uncles in Wilton CT for Xmas eve and found an unopened OWC of the 2014 Pichon Lalande sitting up in the rafters for $103.48 on mix and match which I think is going to be the cheapest price I will find so I scooped that up along with 6 btls of 2015 Felsina Rancia CCR @ $40.99/per.

Nice effort JC, you really do have your life priorities sorted. For that you should be commended to the Benevolent Dictator for an Outstanding Bravery and Lifetime Achievement Award. With Pichon Lalande you can’t really go wrong. Merry Christmas to you and Ceil too.

JC, well done. I still think you’d profit from attending a Convention, but I cannot argue with laying down a few extra bottles for the impending zombie apocalypse.

Upon recommendation by the esteemed Sir Comte Flaneur Esquire of London, Her Majesty's United Kingdom, and by the power vested in me by myself as the most kind and benevolent dicator of Bordeaux Wine Enthusiasts, I do hereby award you, jckba, BWEer extraordinaire, the BWE Outstanding Bravery and Lifetime Achievement Award for your remarkable bravery and determination in the acquisition of a full case of 2014 Pichon Longueville Lalande. You are what we like to call back home a true "Bordeaux Wine Enthusiast."

So it is written. So it shall be done.

And I hereby accept said award afterall, justifying another case purchase of a fine Bdx is really quite easy as I look at it as investing in my future.

Never tried a Sociando Mallet Cuvee Jean Gautreau, that would be fun. For some reason, I passed on the 05 of this on Winebid for like $45 + premium three or four years ago.

I was under the apparently mistaken impression that this cuvee was only created more recently.

And a few bottles of Billecart Salmon Rosé

Was extended an Aubert mailing list purchase from a friend who was passing on his allocation this year and picked up a mixed case (2 of each of the Powder House, Lauren, UV-SL, CIX, Eastside and Sugar Shack) and also pulled the trigger on a case purchase of the 2016 Charvin CdP @ $50/all-in per btl.

That, sir, is a most excellent purchase. Gonon, Levet, Baudry and Sociando are my four most represented wineries in my "cellar". The 2016 Gonon Iles Feray, i.e., their base syrah, is excellent. Have not cracked open a St Joe yet. Sitting on them. I'm really liking the vintage, however.

Thank you sir, I'll ask about the Isles Feray. My buddy Thomas just opened two weeks ago the ultimate AFWE wine store right in my hood in Sarasota (he would hate it if he knew that's what I called his place) and had a six bottles allocation. I split the loot with my friend Suzanne. We also cleaned him of his 2016 Jamet Collines Rodaniennes Syrah.

I don't think I mentioned it but I ordered a case of 2016 Lanessan for $16 per. The idea is for it to go mano a mano with the 2016 Lagrange I ordered previously. I do kind of regret that what's his name--HlFdB--is consulting at Lanessan now. He obviously has a great success at Angelus (at least as far as the price he commands) and I've enjoyed his LdP but I always worry about style convergence.

Speaking of what I DID NOT buy....I was at my local specialty butcher picking up some Kurobota pork chops and saw that they had the 2015 Mauvesin Barton offered for.....$63

That is like 5x what this Moulis goes for at K&L.

I'm assuming someone mislabeled it thinking it was Langoa Barton or something.
