Last weekend with AlexH.
2018 Chateau Livran : concentrated Haut-Médoc ‘´à la’’ 2018. Chocolate, concentrated black fruit, high density. Beasty a bit. Not open, low acidity. Ambitious. Ripr tannins. Good.
2016 Chateau Patache d’Aux : Médoc. Ambitious too, but still controlled by the 2016 vintage. Creamy ripe blackcurrants, violet grapes, spices, perfumed, concentrated, structured, tannic. Length with some freshness. Need time. Very good.
2020 Jean-Luc Jamet Les Terrasses : fresh acidic rasberries, lot of minerals, smoke, blackberries. Not as complex as other Côte Rôtie. With more air and time, flowers and be light licorice. Medium body mouth, fresh, long. Still young. Very good.
2 Bordeaux, 1 Côte Rôtie

Jamet’s pricing has gone through the roof. I love CR, but IMO is a middle level. So for the higher level, easy pass fron me.

Hi Harry. This one from Jean-Luc is still affordable, but you’re right, prices are going way up since 3 years.
Jean-Paul wines are better i thing, but 2.5 times higher price than his brother’s wines.

Met up with some folks at Buck's Camping and Fishing restaurant a while back and someone brought a 2012 Jamet CR that was beautiful. I can see why it's expensive!

Sounds like a challenge for the Friday night dinner!
